National Guard Feasibility Study
July 14th, 2008 by J.T. in Architecture

At my job, I have been working on a feasibility study for the U.S. National Guard. They want to build a new military base, and I’ve been working with the project manager architect, Don, to study the program and develop a basic floor plan with square footage requirements and dimensions for them. Don participated in a design charette and had some sketches that I used to start the project in Revit.

Without Revit, the project would have taken ages longer. With the instant square footage calculator, Revit was able to tell me how many square feet were in total building,

The building is a two story structure with a 9:12 gable pitched roof, but our design was so schematic that the client did not know what the walls would be or how they would be constructed, so we only worked on their spatial requirements and estimated the depths of the walls for them.

Enjoy!
